About us
Cotswold Boatmobility is a small charity based in Stonehouse, Gloucestershire which was founded in 2014 and is currently run entirely by volunteers. Our mission is to provide accessible boating on the Cotswold Canals for individuals who have need of such facilities by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disability, financial hardship or social circumstances with the object of improving their well being.
Overview
Cotswold Boatmobility is now an established charity and has the boats, volunteers and facilities to expand its operations. We are recruiting for a consultant to assist the Board of Trustees and Senior Management Team (all volunteers) with all operational functions and ensuring efficiency within the organisation. This will be a home based role, within the local area, working 8 to 10 hours a week. You must be able to attend occasional events and activities in order to build relationships with guests and volunteers, and identify areas for improvements. You will also support Board Meetings providing administrative support.

- An efficient process to manage guest bookings and volunteer rosters.
- Timely communications and building a good working relationship with both guests and volunteers.
- Budgets and management accounts.
- Support and advice to the Board of Trustees
Requirements
This role would suit someone who has practical knowledge and experience of both the care and the voluntary sectors. Key skills required are
- Breadth of experience in a work environment, administration and management
- Practical experience as a volunteer with a good understanding of policies, procedures and process
- Experience of care sector (highly desirable, but not essential) and relationship management
- Excellent presentation and communication skills, including the use of social media
- Good interpersonal skills including diplomacy, listening & problem-solving
- Good IT skills including the use of Google Workspace, Excel and Word
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Experience as a Company Secretary and knowledge of the Charity Code of Governance is desirable but not essential
